Pivot Charts in CP2

Elliott

Made first post
Hi,

Are pivot charts okay to include in CP2? For some circumstances, a pivot chart, or table, can save a lot of time, in comparison to further data manipulation in order to get the correct format to produce the graph requested (for example April 2021 CP2, graphing 4 variables by month which requires additional steps to get the data in the right format).
I understand that pivot charts can cause issues, but if the data source and field values are appropriately documented in the audit trail, would we lose any marks for choosing a pivot over manually creating the chart?

Hi Elliott

I'd avoid pivot tables / charts in CP2 - they are tricky to document to another user. They add complexity to the spreadsheet that isn't necessary. If calculations are required to produce a particular chart there are often marks for correctly completing these steps.
