part iii, why are we adding the probability from bottom up?

part iv, how was 1710 found?

Not sure if I am missing it but I really wish the solutions for Acted Paper B Practice Questions gave a little more explanation as to why and how the answers were obtained.

    Thank you in advance.

Because the return rates are list in ascending order, and we're looking for the probability of the return attaining or exceeding that level. If the outcomes were reversed in the table then we'd add the probabilities from the top down.
Experimentally. It's the value that needs to be typed into cell Calculations!B12 so that the Calculations!E7 exceeds 50,000.
Thanks for the feedback. Be sure to read the in-cell comments in the Calculations worksheet. There's lot of guidance there.
    Thanks
