Hi,

I have a query about what happens if we produce results based on a slightly wrong formula?
For example, I might have:
  1. Missed one or two words in the question
  2. Interpreted the question instruction differently

Leading to applying an incorrect/different formula. The result still look sensible, however the shape of the chart will be very different to the examiner report although consistent with my model.
As a consequence, what I observe and explain on my summary document will be wildly different to the examiner report's.

Does an "error carry forward" apply in this exam, ie: will I get credits if my observation and explanation is consistent with my own model (and also make sense), so that I lose only 1 or 2 marks for applying the wrong formula?

Let me know if you need any specific examples, this happened to me a few times because I was rushing for speed.

The error carries forward. You'll only lose marks for the initial error, and the examiners will mark everything that comes after on its own merits.
