    Hi,

In a marked Paper 2 exam, there was 1 mark awarded for "Any other reasonable, valid next step" out of a possible 25, i generated a range of possible next steps, some of which were not included in the mark scheme, therefore it seems i was penalised as i scored 0 for those steps mentioned in the suggested next steps. In the exam will i be limited to 1 mark for next steps that are not icluded in the mark scheme?

    Thanks,
    Orla

    Hi Orla

It is generally 1 mark per reasonable, valid next step. To ensure your idea is awarded credit, make sure it is specific to the situation and it is clear why it would be relevant. There are generally a lot of ideas that are covered in the markscheme, and if you had a similar idea, just perhaps approached from a slightly different perspective, you would be awarded credit under the main idea on the markscheme. You won't get credit for making generic points.

You might want to try a marked mock exam before the exam to get feedback on the ideas you are generating.

    Thanks
    Sarah
