If we want to obtain NPV of a project, do we have to write the equation in equation editor in word or we can write it normally as word has superscript notation in it?
When we are evaluating any ratio, do we have to use fraction of equation editor to write the expression or we can normally like a/b in word?

    Hi

Please make sure you've read the IFoA's Examination Handbook for the September 2021 exams (https://www.actuaries.org.uk/system/files/field/document/Examination Handbook September 2021.pdf) to clarify some of the exam process details - in particular you may find the 'Standard Keyboard Notation' section helpful ...

... but in short you can use the equation editor or could write it normally in Word. 'Normally in Word' could be a number of different things, provided the meaning is clear, so for example in an NPV you could use superscript notation or you may find something like v^n
easier to type and this would also be ok. Fractions in the form a/b are also fine.
