CT6 April 2008 Question 4 iii)

    Just a question around the last bit in the solutions where the pearson residual and deviance residual are equal. Once the scaled deviance is simplified and then substituting it into the deviance residual formula, where does the summation (i=1 to n) go? It looks like it is just completely ignored, what is the reasoning behind this?

    Deviance residual is calculated for each individual data value - not for the whole sum.
