    Hi all
In chapter-10, section-3 (Multiple decrement models)
On page15, a comparison betweem some dependent and independent probabilities is given. And after that, it is written that these are only true for revised model above and not for general multiple state model.

I need to confirm that are these prob. true for any multiple decrement model ? And false for any multiple state model ?

Also, please explain the difference between multiple state model and multiple decrement model in brief.
    Please reply asap.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

All multiple decrement model are multiple state model, not vice-versa
Where is multiple decrement model have one active state and n(n>=1) exit state(s).
And multiple state model can have more than 1 active states.(i.e. more than 1 movement possible, unlike strictly 1 active for Multiple decrement model)

    So the answer is:
There probs. equation is true for any multiple decrement model, and false for some multiple state model(from which is not Multiple decrement).
