Are there bound to be significant changes in syllabus for the 2018 session?

I wish to purchase the notes from now but the warning "Before you add any CA1 products into your shopping cart, please click the checkbox to confirm you understand that the products are for the 2017 exams." has me worried.

    Thanks!

The 2018 syllabus is on the actuaries.org website. Pull that off and compare to the 2017 syllabus which is also there. All material is written to meet the syllabus so if there's no major change there you should be ok and just look at any update published. Buying notes though in isolation is relatively expensive if you later want a Cmp pack etc. Will the extra weeks to October make much difference to you in preparation in terms of peace of mind?

CA1 is a big subject, so it’s well worth making an early start if you can.

The 2017 materials should be fine for the 2018 exams. There are no changes to the syllabus. There are just three very small changes to the Core Reading (just a couple of lines or a few words). So there are no new topics or major rewrites of existing topics. So you should be able to easily update the 2017 course using the CMP Upgrade which we’ll put on our website once the 2017 exams are over.

    Good luck with your studies.
