    (1) The Examiner's report shows that 63(ap)x = 0.951372. When working it out using (1-0.019363)(0.029265) i am getting 0.9519388. Am I working this incorrectly?

    (2) how was the present values calculated?!

    Hi nad07,

I can't see where you're getting your numbers from but I suspect that you're not multiplying INDEPENDENT probabiulities together. In ASET, we've done it as e^- forces of decrement. So, you should have e^-0.03 * e^-0.0198456. This is not the same as what you have.

For the present values you need to multilply by v^0.5 or v^1.5 depending on when they became ill.

Have you got ASET for this? It is extremely useful and explains this whole question,

I only have ASET up to Oct 2015. I tried to work it out using the method in the Examiner's report by finding (aq)x_d and (aq)x_s.

Thanks. I suppose it is quite late now as I do not live in the UK.
