(1) The Examiner's report shows that 63(ap)x = 0.951372. When working it out using (1-0.019363)(0.029265) i am getting 0.9519388. Am I working this incorrectly? (2) how was the present values calculated?!
Hi nad07, I can't see where you're getting your numbers from but I suspect that you're not multiplying INDEPENDENT probabiulities together. In ASET, we've done it as e^- forces of decrement. So, you should have e^-0.03 * e^-0.0198456. This is not the same as what you have. For the present values you need to multilply by v^0.5 or v^1.5 depending on when they became ill. Have you got ASET for this? It is extremely useful and explains this whole question, John
I only have ASET up to Oct 2015. I tried to work it out using the method in the Examiner's report by finding (aq)x_d and (aq)x_s.
I'd probably buy mini ASET to top up with the latest paper. It's only £12 (our website doesn't mention adding VAT either) https://www.acted.co.uk/paper_aset.html#mini
