Chapter 3- Functions of continuous random variable

    Hi everyone,

    In the example 3.11 on page 22, the lower limit is calculated as -log u / Lambda (to find CDF of U). Can some one help me with finding the upper limit.

    In this case it is given as 'infinity'.

    But in the answer for the Past exam question (on page 24), the upper limit is taken as 1.

    Is this because the original function's upper limits are 'infinity' in the first case and '1' in the second case?

    Thanks a lot.

    Do we only calculate lower limits and use the same upper limits of the original functions all the times?.

    If the answer is no, could you please give me some examples.

    Can I find more examples on this topic somewhere to understand more clearly?
