Somewhere between 5 and 8 LPA - depending upon where you apply and your other skill sets. Some companies have hired for substantially lower too but that was during 2009 when the market was in a crappy condition.
 
Too many freshers, too few jobs

Finding a job is hard enough for someone with no exams (and no influence anywhere). The profession is still excellent but overcrowded now.

I haven't found any GI jobs asking freshers to apply in the past two-three months at least..
 
How's it for guys with 5-6 papers?

I think its quite tuff to find a job at the entry level even with about 4 papers....

How about someone with 7-8 papers, statistical modeling and risk experience , good knowledge of databases , code writing (in total 5-7 years of exp) but no experience in insurance. What kind of package should one expect?
