Assignments

ActEd’s assignments contain a range of mainly exam-style questions (with full solutions) to test your understanding of the course. Assignments can be purchased with or without marking.

Series X Assignments
Series X Assignments are ideal for first-time sitters as they are co-ordinated with each part of the course to give you exam practice as you progress through the Course Notes.

CT Subjects:
Two 80-mark and two 100-mark tests
CA1:
Five 80-mark and five 100-mark tests
CA3:
Five 3-hour tests
ST Subjects:
Three 80-mark and three 100-mark tests
SA Subjects:
Six 100-mark tests

The Series X Assignments are included in the Combined Materials Pack.

Note: If you order Series X Marking at the same time as you order the assignments, you can choose whether or not to receive a copy of the solutions in advance. If you choose not to receive the solutions with the study material, we will send the assignment solutions to you when we mark your script (or following the deadline date if you don’t submit the assignment). Solutions are always sent in advance to students who have not ordered marking or who are using Marking Vouchers.

Series Y Assignments
Series Y Assignments, where available, are designed for retakers or for first-time sitters wanting additional practice – they are not restricted to testing just one part of the course.

CT Subjects:
Two 100-mark tests
CA1:
Five 100-mark tests
CA3:
Three 3-hour tests
ST Subjects:
Three 100-mark tests
SA Subjects:
Two 100-mark tests

Submitting Assignments
We only accept the current version of assignments for marking, ie those published for the sessions leading to the 2008 exams. If you wish to submit your script for marking but only have an old version, then you can order the current assignments free of charge if you meet the conditions below.

Assignments will be provided free of charge only if you have purchased the same paper in the same subject the previous year (ie sessions leading to the 2007 exams), and have purchased marking for the 2008 session.

We strongly recommend that you photocopy your assignment attempts before sending them to us for marking.

Please note that it is your responsiblity to ensure that an assignment reaches us by the deadline. First class post does not guarantee next day delivery. If you are posting close to the deadline we recommend you send the assignment by special delivery to ensure it reaches us by the deadline. Scripts received after the deadline will be returned unmarked. Recommended submission dates and final deadline dates for each assignment are given on the assignment deadlines page.
