Changes to ST6, ST9 and SA4 for 2012

Significant changes have been made to Subjects ST9 and SA4 for the 2012 exams. In Subject ST9, two of the required text books are being replaced by one new book. More details issued by the Profession can be found at http://bit.ly/mEJ9A5.

In Subject SA4, the 2012 Core Reading has been rewritten and updated.

As a result of the above, we will not be able to produce a CMP Upgrade 2011/2012 in Subject ST9 or SA4 and we recommend that students purchase a new set of materials if they wish to take one of these exams in 2012.

Subjects ST9 and SA4

Due to the significant changes made to these subjects this year, we are releasing the course material in sections.

Parts 1 and 2 of each course will be available from mid-October, Part 3 from around 10 November and Parts 4-6 from around 16 December.

For Subject ST6, a new version (the 8th edition) of the John Hull textbook Options, futures and other derivatives was recently published. For the 2012 exams, students may use either the 7th edition or 8th edition for their study. ActEd's notes will give references to both versions and the Profession have stated that the examination will not assume knowledge of detail that is included in one edition but not the other.
