Advice for students studying CA3

Details of the profession's CA3 2-day practical exam can be found on the profession's website.

Course Notes and Assignments

We recommend you purchase our Course Notes and X Assignments using our estore. Assignments can be purchased with or without marking.

Face-to-face Tutorials and Mock Exams

We also offer a variety of tutorials, designed to help you pass the CA3 exam:

  • A Preparation Day: to build upon your learning from the CA3 Course Notes and help develop the written and presentation key skills you need to pass the exam. The tutorial will include short exercises providing opportunities to practise both your written communication and presentation skills. You will leave the tutorial with your own personal action plan so that you know how you need to improve before the exam.
  • A Mock Exam Day: giving you the chance to attempt the type of questions you will face in the exam. Two hours of the day will be spent attempting a written question under exam conditions. This will be marked by ActEd and written feedback will be sent to you shortly after the day. You will also have the opportunity to practise delivering your own presentation, which you will need to prepare before the day. As well as receiving immediate feedback on the design and delivery of your presentation, you will get the opportunity to watch and learn from other students. The questions used are those contained in Mock Exam A.

Please view the Tuition Bulletin to see the courses on offer.

Mock Exams

If you want to prepare for the actual exam by completing a mock exam but are unable to attend a face-to-face Mock Exam Day (see above) then you should purchase Mock Exam A. This mock exam is available with or without marking. If you choose to have your mock exam answers marked by ActEd then you will need to email your answers to us in Word and PowerPoint formats. In respect of the presentation question, we will grade your slides and draft script, but we will not be able to assess your presentation skills.
